There is a little known secret that is quite a benefit to the residents of Newport – The Marguerite Robinson Community Center. The Center is located at 400 West Sixth Street. The Housing Authority operates the Community Center in conjunction with the City of Newport Recreation Department and the Newport Independent Schools.

The Center provides a wide variety of recreational programs and other services not only to our residents, but also the residents of the City of Newport. It has a complete fitness room equipped with tread-mills, stationary bikes and other fitness equipment.

Current hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 3:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  During the summer, the hours may be adjusted to have the Community Center open for a longer period of time.
